Michael Hill is one of those rare individuals who is capable of delivering a total IT solution from the physical layer through the application layer with defense-in-depth integrated into every aspect of the system.  He is a programmer, database expert, network engineer, systems analyst, information systems security expert, project manager, and teacher all in one.  As a certified security professional, he is frequently contracted to conduct risk analysis and consultation on implementation of secure IT environments.  After recently leading a comprehensive end-to-end cybersecurity assessment including penetration testing, he authored the first Risk Management Framework (RMF) cybersecurity strategy and system security plan for a critical intelligence information system used to identify known and suspected terrorists around the globe.  Before that he worked as a lead Security Control Assessor (SCA) in a NIST pilot program and was contracted by the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) to develop and implement the GIG engineers Technical Workforce Development Program that included extensive systems engineering, modeling and simulation, and information assurance. 

Mr. Hill is recognized internationally as an expert on the full range of IT disciplines because of possessing the rare combination of skills as a programmer, data architect, network engineer, systems analyst, and teacher.  In fact, because he spent a substantial percentage of his career teaching and consulting others he had to develop a broader comprehension of the integration of technologies than most IT specialists and his certifications attest to this.  He has a CISSP, CEH, MCITP, CIW CI, MCSE, CCNA+V, Compliant A+, Network+, Security+, PMP, CTT certifications.  In addition to two undergraduate degrees, one in applied physics and the other in computer networking, Mr. Hill has a Master of Science degree in Cybersecurity and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland, University College.  He obtained the Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at the top of his class with a perfect 4.0 grade point average in a cohort that included an attorney, an air group commander at the Pentagon, another fighter pilot, the chief executive of a national not-for-profit, several federal program managers, and other successful professionals. 

Since 1992, he has proved to be a highly skilled technical professional and effective change agent demonstrating creativity and innovation, external awareness, flexibility, resilience, strategic thinking, and vision, having created several successful businesses and programs for client organizations. He built a career around his ability to evaluate and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of programs and processes. He creates solutions, builds teams, and produces results.  

Andrew Valencia, CISSP, SEC+, MCP

Andrew Valencia is a Cybersecurity professional with a decade of experience in the IT industry. He is the founder, President and CEO of CyberVet Inc., a cybersecurity consulting firm. Inspired to make a difference in the world, Andrew joined the United States Marine Corps and spent the next 8 years serving his country. His passion for teaching has followed him throughout his military career. As an enlisted Marine, Andrew was chosen to provide training on tactical communication equipment to Communications Officers in a lecture setting. After moving to Quantico, he was chosen to instruct new Foreign Military Officer students in Cyber Awareness at the Marine Corps University.  Andrew continues to leverage his passion for teaching and cybersecurity by providing Risk Management Framework (RMF) instruction to cybersecurity professionals for CyberAssure Inc. Andrew is currently attending University of Maryland University College to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity. He plans to continue his pursuit of life long education by earning a dual Masters in Business and Cybersecurity with aspirations to earn a PhD in Computer Science-Information Assurance Focus. Andrew currently holds MCP, Security +, and CISSP certifications. In his free time, Andrew is an animal lover, passionate zombie enthusiast and an unapologetic pop culture evangelist.
